Born in Ketchikan and a lifetime resident of Southeastern Alaskan, watercolor artist Elizabeth Rose-Chambers is known for realistic and detailed portrayals of familiar scenery. Her versatility in the watercolor media enables each work to be created with a reflection of her feelings towards that particular subject.Always interested in art, Elizabeth received the Christine Oaksmith Art Scholarship award and attended Seattle University as an art major. In 1979, while living Juneau, she began painting professionally and since that time she has had numerous solo shows.Elizabeth has worked as a substitute art teacher. Her work received first place in the 7th Annual Juried Art Exhibition in Sitka in 1984 and many paintings are featured in private collections throughout the country and abroad. Her work is also a part of the Alaska State Museum?s permanent collection in Fairbanks. Elizabeth now makes her home in Ketchikan with her husband Bruce. |
