Rosemaler, Arlene Hudson started her career in Ketchikan, Alaska in 1972 studying tole painting, Rosemaling and International Folk with such masters as International Rosemaler, Gary Albrecht of Madison, Wisconsin. Arlene has been much in demand as an instructor and exhibitor of Rosemaling and International Folk Art syle from the inception of her career to the present. When residing in Ketchikan, she taught classes for Ketchikan, Community College for seven years. She has instructed from Washington State to Minnesota, including both private lessons and instruction offered through the Sons of Norway and the Daughters of Norway lodges and organizations. Arlene's works have won numerous exhibit awards including Best of Show. She has shown her work in the annual Vesterheim Nordic Fest in Decorah, Iowa; The Best of the Northwest in Seattle, WA; and other venues including Anchorage, Haines, Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska. Arlene continues to show in conjuction with her hushand, noted wood sculptor, Doug Hudson. Arlene and her husband currently reside in Bellingham, Wa. |
