Dan Barnett lives in Gig Harbor Washington. He has a B.A. from teh Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington and a M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin. The Northwest's environment is a reference point for Dan's work. His pieces richly textured with a palette emphasizing natural tones are the result of salt firing. Rock salt is introduced in the kiln's atmosphere at approximately 2350 F. The salt vaporizes, interacting with the clay and glazes. Each piece is affected differently by the sodium, attesting to the collaboration between the artist and the fire. All work is handmade and decorated by teh artist. The work is lead free, dishwasher safe and designed to bring you lasting enjoyment |
