Holly Hudson was born in Ketchikan, Ak to two dynamic artists and one multi-talented older brother. At a young age she discovered Norman Rockwell and Michelangelo: it wa love at first sight.
She received a B.A. in Fine Art in 2000 from Western Washington University. she also studied independently at the Seattle Academy of Fine Art from 1996 through 2005. At S.A.F.A., she was able to work with many nationally acclaimed artists such as Steven Assael, Tony Ryder, and Geoffrey Lawrence. Her primary instructor was Juliette Arisides of the Aristides Classical Atelier form 2002 to 2005.
In 2004 she was awarded the Robert DeZordo Scholarship at S.A.F.A. and "Best of Show" and 1st Place in Portraiture at the 2005 Annual Student Exhibition. She has participated in many group shows, including the 20th in 2000: Northwest International Art Competition, a juried competition at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art.
She now lives in Seattle, WA and is attempting to paint simultaneously with passion, skill, and a sense of humor. |
