Bud Daniels

R.G. "Bud Daniels was born in Portland, Oregon in 1929 and came to Ketchikan, Alaska in 1932.

There is hardly anything Bud hasn't done over the past 75 years, including boast building, fishing, trapping, logging, market hunting, ski patrol, search and rescue and ranching. He was the first to ski the rim of Crater Lake while employed by the Crater Lake Park Service in Oregon. He ws privileged to have traveled to every major town and village in all of Alaska.

While working for the Alaska Communication System in the 50's. Bud went into commercial fishing full time in 1959 and was active in the S.E. Gillnet Association and the S.E. Aquaculture Association. Bud and his wife Jo retired in the fall of 2000 to Arlington,Washington. Their home burned down the spring of 2003 and after rebuilding Bud decided to try his hand at replacing some art work lost in the fire. His first painting was of their boat "debonaire" in March of 2007. March of 2008 and 40 painting later it has turned out a way to capture fond memories of Alaska the ay it used to be and to keep busy in the golden years.
