Glen Fazakerley was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. He studied art and sociology at Anderson University, in Indiana and moved to Ketchikan with his wife Beth in 1993.

Glen's favorite medium is pen and ink, but since moving to Ketchikan he has developed a growing love-hate relationship with watercolor - love, because "nothing captures the mood and beauty of southeast Alaska like watercolor," and hate because, "no medium is so difficult or unforgiving." Lately he has begun to combine his love of pen and ink with his new quest to master watercolor. "Ketchikan is a wonderful place to do art because everywhere you look is breathtaking beauty...and if you go away for fifteen minutes and return to the very same place, a while new scene awaits you."
