Pussywillows are a welcome harbinger of spring (and the favorite browse of moose). While it is still cold and dark I cut an arm-full, put them in water and they sprout, bringing that new green color into our home. These soft white freshwater pearls have a beautiful luster and remind us of the early willow buds.
