Like Humpback whales, V migrates between Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii each year painting from platforms frequented by her subjects.
Artist's narrative: Splish Splash is a friend of a friend I met in Southern California. After a couple of Pink Lady's, I asked why so many Flamingos stand on one leg. He ploofed, tipped a thoughtful eye and remarked, 'My dear, some researchers say we sleep with only half of our body, alternating between uplifted legs, kind of like rolling on your other side. They, of course, are not Flamingos and have no scientific basis for such conjecture. Others say we lift our legs to conserve heat. Yo! Do you see me shivering? The truth is, it's about balance and grace - qualities we flamingos embrace as a community.' I nodded, smiled and thought, people have so much to learn.
