Ole Gundersen is a Ketchikan fisherman and photographer. He and his wife Ladonna spend summers aboard their boat, the F/V Ladonna Rose, fishing for salmon. Aboard their boat, he captures some of the most pristine Southeast Alaskan moments from eagles in action to the peaceful sunsets at the end of a long day of fishing.
He shows all his photographs on aluminum which makes his vivid pictures seem to come alive even more. The photos are printed on aluminum using the dye sublimation process where the ink is infused into the metal making them extremely durable and ready to stand the test of time with their scratch and fade resistant nature.
While he spends his free time on the boat with his camera, his wife/fishing partner Ladonna spends her free time cooking and writing her world famous seafood cookbooks. Ole's photography is featured prominently throughout each of her books, and we often hear comments that they are the most beautiful cookbooks people have ever seen! To see more of his work in LaDonna’s cookbooks, check out Salmon, Dessert, and Friends and My Tiny Alaskan Oven, along with her series of "little cookbooks"- The Little Alaskan Salmon Cookbook, The Little Alaskan Halibut Cookbook, and The Little Alaskan Crab Cookbook.
