David Rosenthal
Simply put, Alaskan artist David Rosenthal loves to paint ice. He has been lured to cold climates regularly to record snow, ice, and landscapes. David's paintings of glaciers and icebergs are astoundingly realistic and ethereal. His work includes much more than ice, icebergs and glaciers. Though he resides in Cordova, Alaska, he makes it a priority to travel throughout the state as much as possible to continue to capture the incredible beauty of his home.
As an artist & art teacher, David has taught and continues to teach many students in Alaska through various programs such as Alaska Artist in the Schools, Prince William Sound Community College, and University of Alaska Fairbanks summer sessions.
David Rosenthal has created a large body of fine art in thousands of drawings, watercolor studies, hundreds of oil painting studies and full size landscape oil paintings from the Antarctic, the Arctic, Greenland Coast, Greenland Ice Cap, Alaska, the Southwest, and the East coast. His work seems to magically reflect the intensity of nature's colors and the atmospheric phenomena that David witnesses.
