Debbie Hoyt grew up in the “Gray” of Ketchikan Alaska, a temperate rainforest that boasts 13 feet of rain a year. She credits “the gray” as inspiration and longing for brighter days and more colorful surroundings, so she painted them. Love of trees, sea and flowers propelled her early works.
Creating happy places, serenity and joy, Debbie uses acrylic paint to boldly express herself - an abstract idea or thought on canvas, reminding you to breathe. Her work evokes a somewhat familiar feeling, a familiar place and energy to her art fans.
When she is not painting, Debbie can be found taking in the sights and tranquility of the forest, exploring the beach, or walking along the busy waterfront of her hometown.
