Hamilton Leather
Upon moving to Ketchikan in 2012, David Hamilton of Hamilton Leather started working for a local blacksmith making leather sheaths for the custom knives. David didn't stop there. He challenged himself to make jewelry, wallets, belts, bags and custom gun holsters.
Leather process- It’s all vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanning is one of the oldest and longest processes for tanning leather. David cuts, dyes and finishes the leather himself. He uses Carnauba cream on leather which is a wax that softens the leather and also gives it a nice shine then puts a layer of Tan Kote on both sides of the leather which gives it more shine and water resist.
