Gallery Summer Hours

  • OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! HOURS VARY.

Michael & Susan Peters have owned Scanlon Gallery and our sister gallery Arctic Spirit Gallery since 2005. They are active members in the community and love sharing the beautiful artwork of Alaska to residents and visitors to Ketchikan. They enjoy traveling throughout the state meeting artists and selecting high quality artwork for both galleries.

Mike is our resident framer extraordinaire! He’s been in the custom framing game for a long time and is a master problem solver when it comes to tricky items or complicated measurements. Mike is our main man when it comes to all the behind the scenes work that goes into assembling and finishing framed pieces with an impeccable eye for detail. If you get a phone call letting you know your framed piece is ready to be picked up, chances are it’s coming from Mike!
Liz is a talented artist who has sold her artwork at Scanlon Gallery since the 1980s, and you may even find her working at the gallery a few days a week! Liz is a "jill of all trades" whose skills and flexibility are a huge asset to the gallery. If you live in Ketchikan, chances are you either have some of her artwork on you walls or have at least seen it around town! Check out her iconic Ketchikan scenes here!
Victoria is our in-house native Alaskan art enthusiast! She is an avid champion for that arts in Ketchikan and even worked as the director of the arts council here in Ketchikan. She spent years traveling throughout the state working with artists and is familiar with many traditional native art forms which helps her in her role at the gallery compiling information on the artists and artwork at our sister gallery Arctic Spirit Gallery
Nancy is our talented numbers expert AKA the bookkeeper! She has the important task of making sure our many artists (and employees!) are paid. She also operates a wonderful shop on Ketchikan's Creek St. called Fabulous Fiber Arts- check it out and say hi to Nancy!
