Artist's description: My Orcas Island cabin is on a quiet lane occupied in winter by a handful of local old-timers and myself. Nothing much happens until a tree has to be felled. Word gets around and by the time the tree service people arrive, we're all there like so many sidewalk superintendents. After the falling and when it gets down to cutting firewood, the owner usually invites us all in for tea and cookies. It's a lovely lifestyle.
