Artist's description: Several years ago, I went down the Yukon River from Holy Cross to Mt. Village on a freighter. We stopped at just about all the villages along the way to deliver oil, 4-wheelers, skiffs, food, and other staples. At one stop I saw this woman gathering driftwood for her cook stove. Not many trees in that area but an abundance of driftwood.
