Jim paints with acrylic inks on synthetic yupo paper allowing the inks to flow and be manipulated to the perfect peaceful sea by Jim before the ink dries. Aptly named "Peaceful Anchorage" this piece depicts what a serene inlet somewhere in Southeast Alaska. He can't remember the name of this particular inlet, but remembers exploring it with a friend and seeing a bear from the safety of the rowboat. As an avid sailor, Jim's pieces are often inspired by the sea whether at its best or worst.
